The Rotary Club of Kerikeri has won an award for a website and social media communication programme developed for the organisation by local public relations consultancy Due North with website developer Greenweb. The New Zealand club was presented with an award for the most effective website and social media presence by Rotary District 9910 at its annual awards ceremony in April.
This is only the second year that the award has been made and reflects the growing importance that Rotary International is placing on web-based communication channels to engage with communities.
“It’s important that organisations communicate in the channels that people and their communities are using,” said Due North managing director Peter Heath, who works for the Rotary Club of Kerikeri on a pro bono basis.
“Rotary understands this and the organisation’s online presence is expanding daily. Kudos to the Kerikeri club for deciding to make the commitment.”
