Kerikeri Retirement Village appoints new village manager

Kerikeri Retirement Village has appointed Grant Cochran village manager. He replaces long-time incumbent Frances Shaw.

Mr Cochran is a Registered Nurse with a clinical background in intensive care. He has extensive management experience including five years as nurse manager at Bay of Islands Hospital in Kawakawa where he helped to develop the new hospital. He has also worked in construction and landscaping.

The village manager role revolves around the wellbeing of all the ‘independent living’ residents of Kerikeri Retirement Village. It involves managing the licencing, maintenance and refurbishment of the Village’s cottages and apartments, and all landscaping and gardening.

Mr Cochran spent much of his childhood in Paihia and Whangarei. He and his family moved to Kerikeri in 2016, later relocating an old house here. The project continues to keep them busy with renovating, landscaping and caring for their menagerie; a horse, a sheep, a dog, a cat and a turtle.

He loves spearfishing and anything that involves being in or on the water. But his absolute favourite thing is spending time with the kids and watching them learn and discover life.
